TMR Race Report

With our first World Finals behind us, (well not the first for Jeremy) we returned back to South Florida satisfied with our results. Sure we all want to win, but back to reality, it is quite a task to attend World Finals

In the first place!!!

Jeremy and Christine shared Jeremy’s #969 Seadoo XPL for the event. We decided to do this mainly to contain the cost of the trip. We spent some time tuning the boat, and we combined the best resources of our fleet of XPL’s. The idea was to satisfy the demands of both riders, and put our best foot forward with only one boat.

Jeremy ran in 2 classes: Expert Limited, and Pro Am Limited. Those races were scheduled for Wed, Thurs, and Fri. which worked out perfectly as Women’s Limited was scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, so that would leave plenty of time each day to keep after the maintenance on the boat.

Expert Limited came up first, and after an interesting start to the day, where a first lap heat race incident sent Jeremy off course into a wood post. In the end, Jeremy came out 2^nd in the world for his combined score for the class. Next up was Pro Am Limited, and after an equally impressive performance, a combined score of 5^th in the world was achieved.

For Saturday the weather changed quite a bit. In contrast to the warm and mild days up to that point, it was now mid 50’s and very windy. This of course changed the water conditions making the event more challenging for the riders. Christine managed to complete both motos mistake free, earning a combined score of 8^th in the world. She ran as high as 4^th in the final moto, and gained some very valuable experience for the future.

There is one final round of the Hot Water Tour still on the 2008 schedule, and the points and HWT championships are still up for grabs. Stay tuned for updates.
